Imagine finding out your husband or wife had another husband or wife via Facebook?
That is just what happened for one Washington woman.
Ellenora Fulk, of Tacoma, Washington, stumbled upon Teri Wyatt-O’Neill’s Facebook when her named popped up on the “People You May Know” tab. Fulk investigated futher and found a picture of O’Neill standing next to Fulk’s estranged husband in what appeared to be a wedding photograph.
Ellenora Fulk’s estranged husband, Alan, had run off in December and proceeded to change his last name to O’Neill without first divorcing Ellenora Fulk.
When Fulk found out of Alan O’Neill’s bigamy she contacted his mother. Alan then showed up at her doorstep begging Fulk to keep quiet about the situation. He even went as far as to tell her that she and he were still married, according to court records.
Alan O’Neill was then arrested and charged with bigamy. If convicted, O’Neill could face up to a year in prison.
He has since been placed on leave from his job as a corrections officer and is out of jail.
